Court gives state custody of four abandoned, malnourished dogs

A judge ordered last week that the state take custody of four malnourished dogs that had been abandoned by a Washington woman. Judge Susan Sparaco agreed Sept. 26 to the request by the Maine Animal Welfare Program for the state agency to become owners of the dogs that had been seized a month earlier at a mobile home.
